Vibe 107.6 FM recently hosted a three day workshop with teenagers from the YMCA in Watford, that culminated in an advertising pitch session.
Aged between 13 to 17, the teenagers came from across Watford and Leavesden, to take part in a range of activities throughout Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, one of which was to research an unusual fact about the area.
They were tasked with creating a script for a radio advert, and were then judged by a panel of Vibe Vipers at the station in true Dragon Den’s style!
The winning team were then able to record their advert in one of the studio’s and all of the group got on air with our very own Emma Jones during Wednesday’s Drivetime show. The winners also got to keep their advert on a memory stick as a momento for their next pitching session!
One parent commented “Thank you for the last few days, my son has had a wonderful time. Such a lovely experience for them all”
This was not a one off, but one of four sessions that the station have recently held. They’re a great opportunity for Watford’s younger generation to get involved… and even teach our team a few facts about the town!
Stay tuned for more to come!
