
Watford Women FC beat Plymouth Argyle 2-0 at their home grounds in Kings Langley.
Watford Women FC won their second home game of the season against Plymouth Argyle Women with a 2-0 score on Sunday the 24th of August. The game was Watford’s third of the season and the teams were playing in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.
The game kicked off to an energetic start on the Sunday mid afternoon with attempts at goal starting just four minutes in, with Fyfe attempting to score, but hitting the goalpost instead. Soon after, Wilson made another attempt at goal but was blocked.
It was Madison Perry who scored both of the goals for this game, her first coming after an assist from Fyfe, putting the team ahead midway through the first half. Perry’s second goal came just six minutes into the first half, hitting the ball high into the net from just outside the penalty area.
The first substitution of the game came soon after the second goal, with Rossiter coming off for Kuyken. Shortly after, Walsh and Ayisi are brought on in place of Fyfe and Haines.
The game ended with a 2-0 score for Watford and the team is again victorious on their home grounds. Watford Women’s Head Coach, Renée Hector tells watfordfc.com on their victory that the team is “brave and take[s] risks and getting everyone comfortable with that requires some work. But they deserved it and they executed the game plan perfectly”.
Watford Women are due to travel to AFC Wimbledon on Sunday to play their next game of the season.
