Watford Women Defeat Actonians Football Club

Watford Women FC beat Actonians Football Club 5-0 at their away game on Sunday.

Watford Women advance to the second round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup after their 5-0 victory over the Actonians at the team’s home turf in Greenford on Sunday. 

The game kicked off at 2pm to a captivating start with a goal scored just four minutes in, after Drè Georgiou hit the ball right into the top of the net. The action continued with attempts made at goal from Fisher and Ayisi until midway through the first half, and their attempts proved successful as Isabella Fisher scored the second goal after a free kick from Ayisi. The Actonians also made an attempt at goal, which was rendered unsuccessful after being saved by Watford’s goalkeeper Hillyerd and Watford ended the first half successfully with a 2-0 score.

The second half began with only one substitution as Gray replaced Lyon and the Actonians continued their attempts at goal but were blocked by Meiwald about five minutes into the second half. At the sixty minute mark, Watford was awarded a penalty after a hand ball from the Actonians, which led to Freda Ayisi securing a third goal for the team.

Another substitution was made a few minutes later as Fisher was replaced by Kendell, and Lachante Paul scored the team’s fourth goal with a low shot into the net minutes later. New substitutions were made after a short while as Wilson and Perry replaced Fyfe and Georgiou respectively while Haines replaced Ayisi; Coral Haines scored the team’s fifth goal 12 minutes after being brought on and with one minute left to go, hitting the ball high into the left of the net.

Watford ended the game with a score of 5-0, advancing to the next round of the FA cup and are due to play their next game this Wednesday at their home ground in Kings Langley against Real Bedford.
