Continuing its mission to create and share hard hitting, challenging and entertaining productions, The Pump House Theatre Company is proud to present the powerful psychological thriller
This September, continuing its mission to create and share hard hitting, challenging and entertaining productions, the Pump House Theatre Company is proud to present the powerful psychological thriller, The Girl on the Train.
Rachel Wagstaff and Duncan Abel created the stage production by adapting the 2015 novel, by Paula Hawking. The heroine, Rachel, is a miserable, alcoholic divorcee who gazes at a seemingly perfect couple in a house she passes every day when she commutes by train between London and suburbia.
Diving into the complexities of human relationships and the impact of trauma, director Andrew Knight tells us: “We’re all working really hard as a cast and crew in a collaborative way to interpret and prepare some incredibly powerful and dramatic scenes for our audience members. The play includes a number of difficult and challenging themes from alcoholism to controlling relationships…The actors have all enjoyed bringing these complex characters to life and it’s been a privilege to work with them and our talented team of creatives on this production.”
The production takes place from Monday 23rd - Saturday 28th September 2024 at the Pump House theatre in Watford. Evening performances begin at 7.45pm.
Tickets are only £18, with discounted tickets for students and over 60s. Book your tickets now using the link.
Please note that the play contains some bad language, scenes involving violence and adult themes. Running time is currently estimated at two hours 15 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.
