Join ASCEND at their very last 'Safe Friday' event!

The ASCEND charity in South Oxhey will be holding its final ‘Safe Friday’ session on 15th April.

The initiative, which is organised by ASCEND, began in July last year and is ending with a grand finale after their funding has sadly come to an end.

The 'Safe Friday' Celebration will take place on Friday 15th April from 2.00pm and you can meet your local police and fire service as well as receive advice on safety and fire prevention. It will all be happening at Step Up, 39 Oxhey Drive, South Oxhey, WD19 7SD and you can contact Ascend on 0208 428 6725 for more details.

Michele Wheeler, Ascend's Fundraiser and PR Co-ordinator, is hoping for another popular event as there have been "some great success stories of the project".

‘Safe Friday’ has offered free weekly drop-in sessions, offering advice about home and personal security to help support residents to live safely in their community, running from 12noon until 4.00pm for the last 9 months.

ASCEND is an award winning Christian charity based at All Saint’s Church in South Oxhey, which works with local people to help boost their confidence, skills and move them forward in their lives. Thanks to ASCEND, many local people now have the confidence, self-esteem and skills to find a route to employment, some for the first time in their lives.

In addition to their 'Safe Friday Celebration', ASCEND is planning several activities throughout the year to celebrate its 20th Anniversary birthday including a fun baking competition, an open day and a concert in December by Face2Face. More information on ASCEND's special year is available on their website and Facebook page.
