Three Rivers District Council is hosting a free International Women’s Day event! The event is designed to raise awareness towards women’s health and provide local support.
The event will be taking place at Rickmansworth Golf Club between 11am and 1:30pm on International Women’s Day, which is Saturday, 8 March 2025.
An informative event focused on women’s health will feature talks from representatives of One Vision, Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust, and a consultant. One Vision will discuss how to recognise symptoms of cancer and the importance of screenings, while Watford FC will highlight their fitness and wellbeing programmes. A consultant will also speak about gynaecological health.
Families are welcome, and children can enjoy playing foot golf during the event and refreshments will be available for all attendees.
Rebecca Young, the council’s Head of Strategy and Partnerships, said: “The event promises to be engaging and informative for everyone in the family to take part in, and it couldn’t be a more important date on which to hold it. I warmly invite anyone interested to sign up and come along.”
After the talks, participants can meet with local organisations, including CoppaFeel, Hertfordshire Beacon, Herts Mind Network, Watford Women’s Centre, Watford African Caribbean Association, and Three Rivers District Council Healthy Hubs, to learn more about health resources in the community.
