Young performers will take to the stage at the Boxmoor Playhouse this Saturday 15 August as the Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company’s Summer School presents The Addams Family Young@Part.
The Addams Family Young@Part follows Wednesday Addams as she falls in love with a young man from a respectable family, leading to one memorable evening when the two families meet.
The show is the culmination of an intensive week of rehearsals, with young people working together to prepare songs, dances and scenes for a live audience.
This year, Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company has also introduced an under-18 crew, giving young people the opportunity to learn about the work that takes place behind the scenes of a theatre production. All whom have spent an intensive week reshersing songs, dances and scenes; ready to perform for a live audience.
The crew have gained hands-on experience in stage management, calling cues, organising props and operating lighting and sound, before putting their new skills into practice during Saturday’s performance.
Zoe Mackie, Director, said: “It’s incredible to see how much our young people achieve in such a short space of time...Our under-18 crew have thrown themselves into everything and are every bit as important to the production as the cast on stage.”
Tickets are still available from £10.
