Follow the Santa Sleigh Through Watford This December

The magic of Christmas is set to sweep through Watford once again as Santa’s Sleigh returns for its annual festive tour.

Bringing joy to families across the community—and raising vital funds for local causes—the sleigh will be visiting neighbourhoods throughout December. From weekday evening routes to special weekend supermarket collections, residents will have plenty of opportunities to see Santa, hear the music, wave from their doorsteps, and support the volunteers who make it all happen.

Below is the full route schedule so you can plan where to catch the sleigh as it passes through your area.

Week 1
Monday 1st December – Lemonfield, Bucknalls Lane & Coates Way

Starting at Lemonfield Drive, the sleigh travels through Mutchetts Close, Chichester Way, Cranfield Drive, Bucknalls Lane, Tudor Manor Gardens and Coates Way.

Tuesday 2nd December – Garston Lane & The Avenues

Beginning at Cuffley Avenue, Santa visits Bovingdon Crescent, Codicote Drive, Gaddesdon Crescent and Garston Lane before looping through Woodhurst Avenue, the Four Avenues, St Albans Road and Gammons Drive.

Thursday 4th December – Meriden, Westlea & Eastlea Avenue

Starting at The Phillipers, the sleigh moves through The Pelhams, Fairfords, Bowmans Green, York Way, Turnstones, Westlea Avenue and Eastlea Avenue.

Friday 5th December – Leggatts Wood & Cherry Tree Road

The route begins on Leggatts Wood Avenue and continues through Ash Tree Road, Pomeroy Crescent, Berry Avenue, Cherry Tree Road, Hazel Tree Road, Oakdene Road, Beechwood Rise, Bushey Mill Lane, Bushey Mill Crescent and Northfields Gardens.

Saturday 6th – Sunday 7th December

ASDA Collection Weekend:
Saturday 10am–6pm and Sunday 10am–4pm.

Week 2
Monday 8th December – Sandringham Road & North Watford

The sleigh starts at Sandringham Road and proceeds to Balmoral Road, Southfield Road, Westfield Avenue, Norfolk Avenue, Munden Grove, Knutsford Avenue and Hibbert Avenue.

Tuesday 9th December – Tudor & Knutsford

Starting on Douglas Avenue, Santa continues along Tudor Avenue, Bushey Mill Lane, Tudor Walk, Knutsford Avenue, Westfield Avenue, Eastfield Avenue, Tavistock Road, Devon Road, Byron Avenue, Carisbrooke Avenue and finishes at Devon Road.

Friday 12th December – Courtlands Drive

Beginning at Leaford Crescent, the sleigh follows Gammons Lane, Chilcott Road, Comynes Road, Hudson Close, Courtlands Road, Goodwood Avenue, Minerva Drive, Greenbanks, Holyrood School, Rosecroft Drive and finishes at Strangeways.

Saturday 13th – Sunday 14th December

Morrisons Collection Weekend:
Saturday 10am–6pm and Sunday 10am–4pm.

Week 3
Monday 15th December – Leavesden Green (Rushton Avenue & Harris Estates)

Starting at Orbital Crescent, the sleigh moves through Evans Avenue, Clarke Way, Rushton Avenue, Harris Road, Ross Crescent, Hemming Way, Summerfield Road and returns to Harris Road.

Tuesday 16th December – Woodside & Leavesden (Haines Way)

Beginning at The Brow, the route travels through Cobb Green, Louvain Way, Weal Green, Ganders Ash, Stud Green, Hope Green, Gander’s Ash again, Sheepcote Lane, Queenwood Crescent and finishes along Haines Way.

Thursday 18th December – Cassiobury

Starting at Langley Way roundabout, the sleigh continues through Hartford Drive, Devereux Drive, Woodland Drive, The Gardens, Orchard Close and Orchard Drive.

Friday 19th December – Cassiobury & Tesco Day

Tesco Sleigh Day: Set up from 8:30am, collections 9am–5pm.
Evening route begins at the Cassiobury Drive roundabout and visits Belmont Wood Avenue, Langley Way, Richmond Drive, Parkside Drive and finishes on Cassiobury Drive.

Saturday 20th – Sunday 21st December

Weekend sleigh appearances:
Saturday 10am–6pm, Sunday 10am–4pm.

Monday 22nd December – Kingswood

The final evening route begins at North Approach shops and travels through Greenwood Drive, Fern Way, Kingswood Road, Hillingdon Road, Meadow Road, Perivale Gardens, Briar Road, Appletree Walk, Sycamore Close and back along Appletree Walk.
