This summer, Cassiobury’s creative and colourful Colourscape is back again for an immersive experience!
Colourscape, the immersive walk-in structure of colour and sound, returns to Cassiobury Park, from the 16th to the 25th of August, offering visitors of all ages the chance to step into a vivid, multi-sensory world. Live music and movement bring the space to life, creating an exceptional sensory experience.
This year’s experience invites visitors to slow down and engage their senses, as they explore 70 interlinked chambers filled with intense colour. Colourscape’s opening day- Saturday the 16th of August- will be a Preview Day with no live music, creating a quieter environment which families with neurodivergent children have previously been appreciative of.
Watford’s Mayor, Peter Taylor, says that “Colourscape has become a highlight of Watford’s summer because it offers something completely different. It’s creative, inspiring and truly interactive- a rare chance for people to step into a space that looks and feels like nothing else . We’re excited to welcome it back to Cassiobury Park and to support events that make art and culture accessible for everyone.”.
On weekends, commencing on Saturday the 17th of August, including the bank holiday, Colourscape will host a varied programme of performances featuring professional musicians, dancers, and experimental instruments. During the week, resident musician Michael Ormiston will lead interactive, family-friendly sessions that encourage exploration and participation.
Eye Music, the Arts Council-funded organisation behind the event states that “We’re thrilled to bring Colourscape back to Watford, where it’s been embraced as a space for creativity, exploration, and connection. Each year we introduce new sounds, performances and ideas, so no two visits are ever the same. It’s a joyful, hands-on way to experience art- and we love seeing how people of all ages respond to it.”.
Colourscape will be open from 11am to 4pm on weekdays, and 11pm to 5pm on weekends and the bank holiday. Tickets are available on the door and cost £6 for adults and £4 for under-18s. Performance times vary, so visitors are encouraged to check the website for daily details.
Booking in advance is strongly recommended in order to guarantee your preferred time slots; while limited door tickets will be available, pre-booking is the best way to endure a smooth and stress-free entry, particularly during peak times.
Whether you’re a returning fan or visiting for the first time, Colourscape offers an experience that sparks imagination and connection- right in the heart of one of Watford’s beautiful green spaces. Find out more at https://www.watfordactually.com/colourscape.
