Watford Borough Council’s gigantic and FREE outdoor cinema the Big Screen returns to The Parade by the pond from Friday 6th July for two weeks of movie mayhem!
You can expect everything from action films like Inception to romance classics like Casablanca, from family favourites Moana and Inside Out to the Wimbledon semi-finals and finals. There will be comedies such as Wayne’s World and Dumb and Dumber, as well as the musicals The Greatest Showman and the Oscar-winning La La Land.
The Big Screen runs from Friday 6th July to Sunday 22nd July, and the full listings are available online.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “The Big Screen has always been a huge success. I have received a lot of positive feedback about this hugely popular event. It brings droves of visitors into our town centre, and this year we’ve broadened our film programme, so we hope it will appeal to even more people. What better time to enjoy the Big Screen than in this lovely sunny weather?”
You can bring your own chair to the event, or hire a deckchair for just £1 while you watch your film. Details of the nearest car parks can be found online here.
The Big Screen has been separated from the Big Beach this year. The two events had previously been organised as one event, but were split up after feedback from visitors last year. The Big Beach will run from Saturday 4 August to Sunday 19 August on The Parade by the pond.
