The Borough’s first Polish Councillor has taken her first steps into the Town Hall.
Councillor Aga Dychton was elected as a Liberal Democrat Councillor for Central Ward at this year’s local elections.
Aga who currently works as a Social Worker in Hertfordshire, grew up in Poland and studied Journalism and Political Science at the University in Warsaw.
She moved to Watford eight years ago and helped set up the successful Polish Saturday School at the University Technical College (formerly at West Herts College).
Councillor Aga Dychton said: "I’d like to thank voters in Central Watford for putting their trust in me.
"I am determined to be a hard working councillor who can get things done and speak up for local residents."
Watford’s Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill welcomed the new addition and is looking forward to her contribution.
She said: "I’m delighted to welcome Aga to the Town Hall and I know she’ll be a dedicated and approachable local councillor.
"Watford has a growing Polish population and they make a great contribution to the life of the town.
"I’m looking forward to working with Aga to ensure the links between the Council and the Polish community go from strength to strength."
