Working together and aiming to lessen the loneliness in isolation, players, coaches and staff members are checking up on Watford’s fan base, with half the playing squad taking part in the scheme.
Head coach Nigel Pearson is among those to have been calling people, while Nathaniel Chalobah and Adrian Mariappa have also been picking up the phone.
On March 18th, Watford fan William Knight lost his wife. The 85-year-old, who watched his first Hornet’s game in 1946, was phoned by Chalobah this week.
“To think a big club like Watford can get a big player like Chalobah to phone somebody like me - I can't really thank the club enough," Mr Knight said.
Whilst a Premier League football club going through a rough time, Watford FC is frequently displaying its love for its community.
