Not only will the Big Screen be coming back to Watford, but it has now been merged with the Big Beach for one epic event!
As part of the Watford Borough Council’s landmark Big Events series, this fantastic free event merges the best bits of the Big Screen and Big Beach and lasts 31 days. Renamed Big Screen on the Beach, surround sound and an even bigger screen (yes, it’s possible) are part of the package.
Kicking off on Saturday 30th July and finishing on Bank Holiday Monday on 29th August, the screening programme of over 30 films will be jam-packed with blockbusters and classics. Details of film dates and times are available online and include Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jaws and Grease as well as Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone amongst others. The mega screen will even be broadcasting the Rio Olympic Games live, so expect a carnival atmosphere.

In addition, The Parade will be transformed into a Great British seaside to produce Watford-on-Sea! The beach will appear with sand extending from the screen to the pond to create Watford’s very own lagoon in the heart of town and will be supported by a programme of entertaining and educational events. Information about the free activities available can be found on the Big Events website.
Vibe 107.6 FM will also being hosting another Raw Vibes Live gig with more great acoustic sessions, including Britain's Got Talent Jasmine Alcock! More details to follow.....
Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: "Everybody loves summer and what better way to capture the spirit of the season than with this huge outdoor event. We promised that we would continue to improve the Big Events and that’s what we’re doing. Broadcasting the Olympic Games on the beach is so exciting. It just shows that Watford is place where big things happen."
