‘The Ladybird’s’ join Peace Hospice Care’s Push It for the Peace!

Lucy, her brother and their mum

Eight ‘Ladybird’s’ have signed up to take on Peace Hospice Care’s 5 mile muddy challenge!

Lucy Petagine, from Kings Langley, is the team leader of ‘The Ladybird’s’ who will be climbing, swimming and splashing over 30 obstacles on the 24th September in Chiswell Green, St Albans.

Lucy said: “I found out about Peace Hospice Care as my Mum’s friend works on reception and regularly does fundraising events. Last year, my Mum was in the Hospice’s Inpatient Unit before she passed away and during her time there I was able to stay in their family room upstairs. The care my mum received whilst at the Hospice was exceptional. I know that my mum felt very welcome at the Hospice, she was made very comfortable and all her needs were met. All the staff were very attentive and caring, not only for my Mum but for our whole family".

“Peace Hospice Care does is always there for the community and after the care my Mum received, I wanted to give back to the local charity. So far, I have raised nearly £3,000 across different fundraising events for the Hospice. I love doing events which challenge me and Push It for Peace seemed like a great challenge".

“I would like to encourage the public to support the amazing specialist care that Peace Hospice Care provides. Not only do they accommodate patients but they have many other services which help patients, their families and the general public. So sign up to Push It for the Peace – anyone can take part!”
