Dacorum is holding its own ‘Big Dance’ as part of an international festival where thousands of people will perform the same dance at exactly the same time.
The Get set, go Dacorum team is embracing the Big Dance 2016 initiative, which takes place on Friday 20th May at 1.00pm. And they want you to get involved!
You can support and watch GCSE and A-Level dance students from Hemel Hempstead School and Kings Langley Secondary School strut on stage.
It will all be kicking off in Hemel Hempstead town centre, by the Rainbow Stage.
The Old Town Hall’s Let's Dance group – a group of over 55s – will also be making a cameo.
This year’s dance is choreographed by award winning choreographer Akram Khan, and uses the themes of 'overcoming adversity' and ‘achievement'.
Ben Russell, Get set, go Dacorum Project Lead Officer, said: "The Big Dance performance has been largely supported by the Get set, go Dacorum project, which also supports and helps fund the Let’s Dance sessions.
"Everyone involved is over the moon with the opportunity to showcase all of the great work put in and we hope the town turns out to watch."
