The Top TV Shows And Films To Watch On This Week (28th September - 2nd October 2026)

October is finally here and it is bringing with it a whole host of new TV shows to binge on! You are not going to want to miss the following five this week...

Blue Lights (Series Four), 9pm, BBC One. Tuesday 29th September: The Belfast based police drama is back and with even more thrills and chases than before. Helping to bridge the gap that Line of Duty left, this intense drama is fantastic all in its own right.

East Of Eden, 8am, Netflix UK, Thursday 1st October: Florence Pugh takes the lead in this adaptation of the classic novel. With an all-star cast joining her, it tells the iconic story in all its modern day glory. This will be an award season contender.

The Celebrity Traitors, 8pm, BBC One, Thursday 1st October: From Rob Beckett to Miranda Hart, the cast of this year’s Celebrity Traitors looks set to keep us all well-entertained for weeks to come. Snuggle up on the sofa and see if there will be more iconic moments like the windy one from last season. Will the traitors win? Only time will tell.

Break Clause, 10pm, Channel Four, Thursday 1st October: When a bombshell is announced between two lovers, they face living together whilst also breaking up. In this new comedy drama from Channel Four, you can expect to feel love, hurt and laughter throughout watching.

Kill Jackie, 8am, Prime Video UK, Friday 2nd October: Catherine Zeta Jones is back leading the way in this new action packed series from Prime Video. In a role completely different to anything she has done before, Jones presents a new side to her acting that is a sure fire success in every way.
