This Wednesday's deadline is fast approaching to register for the first Great Watford Bake Off, which will be held on Saturday 7th October at St. Mary’s Church.
As part of Watford BID’s Watford Food and Drink Week the competition will showcase mouth-watering bakes made by the local community.
Participants have until Wednesday 4th October to enter Watford’s first Bake Off as a: Junior, Amateur, Professional or Corporate in one of three categories:
- People's Choice - Cupcakes & Tray Bakes - Make 12 identical servings of your favourite cupcake or tray bake.
- Peace of Cake - Think classic cakes! From a traditional Lemon Drizzle to classic Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Fudge Cake or even a Carrot Cake.
- Spectacular Showstopper - Showcase your talents here; we are looking for elaborate, extravagant and eccentric
If you're not a baker, but a taster instead, come along to St Mary's Church (Church Street, WD18 0EG) between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 7th October to sample the bakes and other refreshments. The best cakes will be selected by public vote (and tasting) and guest judges. Entry is via a donation.
