A 92-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his 87-year-old wife, who was found dead at a home in Exeter.
Police were called to supported accommodation in the city after concerns over the welfare of the woman at about 12.40pm on 19 April.
She was named on Tuesday by Devon and Cornwall Police as Shirley Billam.
"Laurence Billam, aged 92 and of Millbrook Lane, Exeter, has been charged with her murder and will appear at Exeter Magistrates' Court this morning," the force said in a statement.
Detectives did not previously disclose the pair's relationship, but it has now emerged that they are husband and wife.
