Young people across Watford are being invited to participate in an inclusive, new project celebrating the culture and Atmosphere of Watford Football Club.
The Sounds Of Watford Football Club is the product of a collaboration between the Museum of Watford, Herts Inclusive Theatre, and Watford FC Community Sports and Education Trust, which allows young people aged 11-16 with disabilities to explore creativity, build confidence, and have their voices heard.
Elected Mayor of Watford, Peter Taylor said “this is a great opportunity for young people to come together, express themselves creatively and feel part of something special. Projects like this show the real value of culture and heritage in bringing our community together, boosting confidence and ensuring everyone has a voice.”
The programme is designed to be fully inclusive, welcoming young people with a wide range of access needs; organisers are committed to creating a supportive, and enjoyable environment where everyone is invited to take part.
It will be held at Vicarage Road Stadium over three afternoons and will provide those taking part the chance to explore the sounds and culture associated with Watford FC as well as develop drama and performance skills through creating original material using movement, voice, sound, and storytelling. The programme encourages participants to n=build their confidence through collaborative creative activities such as working together to devise a short performance piece, which will be video or voice recorded.
As the sessions build towards a final creative piece, participants are encouraged to attend all three days, spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
