The new multiplex Empire cinema will re-open on the 9th October in Jarman Square to unveil a “new immersive experience” for cinema goers.
The phase one opening of a £7million revamp will open 9 new IMAX screens, replacing the 8 older models. A further 5 screens will come into operation a week later on Friday 16th October.
The full re-launch will take place on October 26, with all 17 screens open to the public, featuring a 281 seat IMAX auditorium – with a screen measuring a massive 18.3m x 10m – in time for the much anticipated Bond film “Spectre”. The new complex will have a seating capacity of 2226 seats, welcoming hundreds of film lovers.
Justin Ribbons, CEO of Empire Cinemas, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing a brand new cinema to Hemel Hempstead’s new and sure to be number one leisure destination – Jarman Square. The introduction of IMAX® & IMPACT into the new complex reinforces our commitment to providing the most cutting edge, immersive viewing experience to our customers and the best cinema-going experience in the area.”
