Government figures show Hertfordshire secondary schools are outperforming the national average.
Hertfordshire County Council has praised the hard work and dedication of students and staff at the county’s secondary schools after the Government’s latest performance table show they chalked up some impressive results.
Hertfordshire has maintained its high standards, with 65.1 percent of young people achieving 5 or more GCSEs A*-C grade including English and mathematics. This is above the national figure of 57.3 percent and puts Hertfordshire in the top fifth of all local authorities in the country.
David Williams, Hertfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Enterprise, Education and Skills, said: "We are immensely proud of our children in the county, as well as our teachers who have helped them be successful in their recent tests and assessments.
“It really is a credit to everyone involved in education in Hertfordshire that our secondary schools continue to outperform the national average."
