Acclaimed Musical showing at Boxmoor Playhouse

New musical ‘Come From Away’ coming to Hemel Hempstead from 30 June

Based on a remarkable true story, Come From Away recounts the events that unfolded after the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, when 38 aircraft were unexpectedly diverted to the small town of Gander in Newfoundland, Canada.

The Hemel Hempstead Theatre Company, which is run by a dedicated group of local theatre enthusiasts, will present the show at the town’s community theatre, the Boxmoor Playhouse. 

The musical follows the intertwined stories of the stranded passengers and the local residents who welcomed them, highlighting the kindness, resilience and sense of community that emerged during an extraordinary time.

Its uplifting story, powerful message and ensemble nature give everyone the chance to shine, while creating a truly special experience for audiences and performers alike."

The acclaimed musical, known for its inventive staging and emotional storytelling will run from 30 June to 4 July, with evening shows at 7:45pm and a Saturday matinee at 2:30pm.
