The Top Five Films and TV Shows to Watch this Week (8th - 12th July 2024)

Films are big on the list this week, as we see a classic feature be turned into a TV show, whilst other sources provide some fresh ones for us to enjoy. Plus, a super documentary will make finding snacks to enjoy during each viewing a whole lot easier. Enjoy these five features from Monday…

Spent, 10pm, BBC Two, Monday 8th July: Following the life of a former model, the show captures the reality of what can happen when you lose everything. Full of heart and comedy, the full series will be available to watch on BBC iPlayer after it airs on BBC Two.

Sausage Party: Foodtopia, 8am, Prime Video UK, Thursday 11th July: After the hit film’s success, the all-star cast are back voicing their characters again in this new series. Hoping to create their own Foodtopia, they are rushing to dine out in their own tasty world. However, it isn’t as innocent as it seems. Definitely don’t watch this animation with kids!

Supermarket Own Brands: The Big Taste Test, 8pm, Channel Five, Thursday 11th July: Whilst bills have started to drop a little, many of us are still turning to supermarket owners brands to save money. Lots are as good or even better than the originals, which is why shows like this are so important. Highlighting if there is really a difference, you will be amazed at the results.

Descendants: The Rise of Red, 8am, Disney Plus UK, Friday 12th July: One for all the family to enjoy, you can start the weekend early, as this musical captures the offspring of our favourite Disney characters fight to save the world.

The Iron Claw, 8am, Prime Video UK, Friday 12th July: Starring Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White, this tragic biographic feature will amaze you. Portraying one of the most famous wrestling families of all time, their story and outcomes will have you in tears by the end of it, whilst also stunned by the amazing performances.
