The Five Best TV Shows To Catch This Week (8th-12th February 2021)

TV is having an interesting moment right now! With all of us staying at home, that all important binge-watching session has become a part of our routine. However, after getting stuck into Bridgeton, falling head over heels for Married at First Site Australia and delving into the dark world of The Pembrokeshire Murders, it is now getting a little harder to find things to watch. Yet, we are here to help.

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joey Tamburello and I have recently joined Vibe as the resident Entertainment helper. I am going to be your guide to finding the best TV and films. Each week, you can look out for me on Benjy’s show, or through these hopefully helpful articles on the top five features not to miss each week. And let me tell you, there are some cracking shows coming up:

Soulmates, Amazon Prime, Monday, 8am: First shown in America on the AMC channel, the place that gave us The Walking Dead, this new sci-fi show will have you wondering about if you have met your soulmate yet or not. Set 15-years in the future, the episodes embark on an adventure of epic proportions, as the characters discover that they can meet their soulmates before falling for them. It is then up to them to see if they really are made to be with that person forever. Interesting ideas and a real freshness are what make this a must watch.

Celebrity Best Home Cook, BBC One, Monday, 9pm: One in which the whole family can enjoy, this super sweet treat is a joy to watch. With stars including Ed Balls, Fern McCann and Ed Byrne taking part, there is a lot of fun to be had whilst watching. It may also inspire you to get up and make your own versions of the dishes shown this week. Get the snacks in for this one.

Wandavision, Disney Plus, Friday, 8am: Released weekly, this Marvel based series is now finding its feet for many of us. After an incredible episode three, the show is finally digging into how Wander and Vision, famed for their Avengers appearances, manage to make a TV show lifestyle and why. Get stuck in now if you haven’t started already.

Crime Scene: The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel, Netflix, Friday, 8am: Out today, this new documentary series is one that is going to be sure to hook you in. Taking an in-depth look at the disappearance of Elisa Lam, the show explores the weird and mysterious way in which her body was found. Plus, the experiences that she shared before her death. You won’t be able to stop watching!

It’s A Sin, Channel 4, Friday, 9pm: If you haven’t watched this show yet, then you need to make it your next binge. With all episodes available to watch on 4OD right now, it is also airing on TV weekly. Taking audiences through the early 80s and aids discovery in the UK, this will have your heart in pieces one minute, before you fall into a fit of laughter the next. Definitely one to watch with a box of tissues nearby.
