BEEE Creative and makeAMPLIFY present ‘Museums in Motion’

BEEE Creative, makeAMPLIFY and eight local community performers invite you to watch their new film installation at Watford Museum.

'Museums in Motion' is a brand new dance and heritage inspired film installation that is opening at Watford Museum for Summer 2016. The installation has been produced in collaboration with Young Carers from Carers in Herts who have explore the theme ‘What is inside your mobile phone?’ It will be open to the public from Saturday 9th July until Friday 2nd September 2016 at the Watford Museum, 194 Lower High Street, Watford, WD17 2DT

Young people and families from across Hertfordshire have come together at Royston, Stevenage and Watford Museums to explore the apps, functions and capabilities of the mobile phone and the historical items that were used for the same task. The young people and families spent three days as dancers, directors and film-makers to create the installations with a team of professional artists from BEEE Creative and makeAMPLIFY.

‘Museums in Motion’ will be launched at the Watford Museum on Friday 8th July with a private viewing for the project participants and their family and friends and will then be open to the public from Saturday 9th July to Friday 2nd September 2016. The installation is free to visit and is suitable for people of all ages. (Please note: the museum is open to the public Thursday to Saturday from 10.00am – 5.00pm).

Laura Horn, Arts Development Officer Watford Borough Council said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to offer our Young Carers in Watford. A collaborative approach between Dance, Technology and Heritage is sure to provide the participants with an amazing experience. We look forward to sharing the installation with our Museum visitors too!'

The project is managed by BEEE Creative (BEEE Ltd), delivered by makeAMPLIFY and supported by Arts Council England, Hertfordshire Music Service, Watford Borough Council and Public Health Hertfordshire.
